The Last Beach House

I can feel the end.  The light is changing and it is cooler in the evenings.  I can leave my windows open when I sleep.   *Heavy Sigh*

I wanted to do a "last beach" theme build, but i'm so tired of the beachy stuff.  I tried something a little different.

BOTHA HOUSE - COOL AND BLUE - Part 2 First Floor Interior

This blog isn't about the Terra Cotta Army, but i'm a huge fan.  I saw these creations from *PRAVDA - DC* and bought all of them.  Shown in this build is the Armored Infantry Terracotta Warrior Statue V3.  I've used them in so many rooms and they fit anywhere.

The Botha House is breathtaking.  I love all the glass on the first floor.  All the rooms have a view.  Something beautiful out each window.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sectional sofa from The Loft.  I purchased the Roxy Sectional in White, Gravel and Oatmeal.  Picking a non neutral color is outside my comfort zone or I would have bought the red, blue.......etc.  I added pillows from Colleen's collection for a perfect resting spot.

I remember when the Anna Chair was released by LISP.  I thought then, and still do, that it is the perfect transitional piece.  It is sorta modern (mid-century), but the textures give it a classic feel.

Most of the accessories in the room you will recognize, but my favorite is the plant on Cheeky Pea's Deconstructed Coffee Table between the two Anna chairs - Botanical - 'Twoey' Carnivorous Plant.  I'm singing "little shop of horrors" every time I see it.

In my dining area, I pulled out some favorites from Scarlett Creative.  These pieces came with one of the homes that I purchased.  I added the Kuro - Ladder Lamp over the table to keep it from getting to sterile and uber modern.

I hope you enjoy and feel free to visit.

BOTHA HOUSE - 365 DEGREES OF COOLNESS - Part 1 Exterior

I saw my first Botha building on Pitsch Parx' Inspiration Book blog last December.  Botha's buildings have very clean, concise lines.  I purchased the Yasmin House and have been waiting for the right place to put it.

When I moved back to The Grove Country Club in May, I felt that it was a perfect location and site for this modern, serene masterpiece.

Botha's buildings are no-mod so I added some steps from a Lindini home and a kitchen from Fanitik Homes - Farnsworth.  I created some custom glass walls on the second floor and am really pleased with the way it turned out.

Stop by and see for yourself.  I won't begin my remodeling of the site for another couple of weeks.

Traditional Home Magazine - October 2010

It's time to clean out my bookshelves and throw away my older beloved and dusty decorating magazines.  Before I relegate them to the trash, I leafed through the pages looking for scenes that inspire me.

The attached photo really got my attention. I loved the series of photos detailing a serene and sophisticated vignette.  So I looked through my inventory and went about recreating the setting, but of course, I had to embellish.  I opened the shutters and replaced the white chair with a patterned beauty from The Loft.

I want to point out the beautiful Copper Leather Sofa (Mesh) from Pamela Galli-La Galleria.  The texture is beautiful.  I love it so much, I purchased two (unfortunately no copy).

FANATIK ARCHITECTURE - SENDA

The Senda House has amazing textures.  The layout is open and allows for creative use of the space.

I purchased two Knole sofas from Painter Designs and have been dying to use them.  There style is perfect for this house.  Trompe Loeil's Oceania Chair came out in this month's Fameshed offering.  It complements the sofa and the Cheeky Pea Hutton tables.

I took The Loft's Antler Chandelier and textured it white.  I used {af} Pillar Table and tinted it brown for a plant stand.  I copied a brown IKAT from Google images and decorated with paintings from some talented artists Roberto Ferri and Suhair Sibai.

The outside view is pure Hampton indulgence.

Enjoy!

Worthy of an Oscar - POST: Cherbourg Suite Blanc

I'm so in love with the DECO period.  I've tried to capture the mood and light of sophistication (and a slight bit of decadence) in this set of pictures.

Once again, I've pulled one of my favorite builds from the bottom of my inventory.  Thank you Van Auster for sharing your brilliance with us.

The sad remains
