KISMET Modern Medieval

I love mixing styles and, like most of the Second Life home decorating bloggers, would consider my approach eclectic.

I did the following design for my Kismet home - Ashthorne Manor.

There is so much in these rooms, that a style card would take years to complete (and cost millions of lives).  Let me know if you need any information.

AUGUSTA'S HOME AT THE GROVE - FINAL SELECTION

I have seven homes created by Cierra Anatine, owner of  KISMET.   I love them all and have used them on my private land for several years.

I decided to place the Ashthorne Manor on my property at The Grove and give it a comfortable, European makeover.  I added the garden conservatory on the side as opposed to the original location at the back.

The landscaping is in a state of disarray, but I'm hoping it will be completed by Thanksgiving.

Today i'm showing the grand view.  You are welcome to visit - it is a Work in Progress!

LIVING LARGE AT THE GROVE

I have the perfect 1/4 sim where I create and destroy to my heart's content.

I was looking for a more permanent presence - someplace with a lot of style.  Viola!  Let me introduce you to my home at The Grove.

Since I have neither the inclination, skill nor the time to build my own home, i purchased a "modest" dwelling from the Marketplace.  Pre 'Fabulous Odette Mansion - French Country House.

I dropped my new home onto my plot and it already looks grande.  I am waiting for the sim owner, Umberto Giano, to assign a landscape artist to help me realize my vision.

In the meantime, I took some pictures of the work in progress.  More to follow!

I began working on my parlor or formal living room and am still tweaking.

Tribute to Jimi Hendrix

Jimi Hendrix died September 18, 1970, 42 years ago.  I could go on and on about the contributions he made to modern music, instead, I honored him in a small Salon.

The Family Room

I was lying on my sofa watching a NASCAR race and decided to try to recreate my family room.

This is a loose rendition because it doesn't include a TV set, but it is close.

The house I used is River Run from Varriele Designs.  It is such a warm and amazing home.

A Litte Sanctuary

When fall arrives, I tend to get more introspective.
Things aren't so important and their is time
to pick up a favorite pasttime.
For me....I love to get down to some
serious reading!!!!

In every heart there is a room
A sanctuary safe and strong
To heal the wounds from lovers past
Until a new one comes along...Billy Joel

A Pergola with a View!

This summer I saw so many tents, pergolas and summery patios.  The deck of my own home faces a dense Maryland forest and I love it, but the summer mosquitoes can be really annoying.

I did my own version on the edge of a grassy cliff for Second Life.

I wish I were there now!

Been a Little Busy!

I've been working on a design setting for Inspiration Book.  I am so proud of my association with the amazing group of designers who participate.

Here are some photos of the bedroom, I hope you enjoy.

Vacation - And wasn't it fun!

I'm back from vacation.  I overpacked, overslept and overate - a wonderful break from reality.

I missed my green 1/4 sim on Rio Bravo and can't wait to move around some trees and rocks and lawn chairs.

I recently purchased a lot at The Grove.  I'm feeling terribly intimated.  There are really creative designers living at The Grove who build their own homes (misnomer for mansions).  I have only a few creative bones in my body, so I've been shopping for a suitable house.

I guess my Pandemonium Villa is out of the question :)

Lost and forgotten
