I'm so in love with the DECO period. I've tried to capture the mood and light of sophistication (and a slight bit of decadence) in this set of pictures.
Once again, I've pulled one of my favorite builds from the bottom of my inventory. Thank you Van Auster for sharing your brilliance with us.

**InteriorAddiction** Bayou Houseboat
Several years ago, I visited a SIM that was themed around a bayou - Belle Bayou. As soon as you enter the sim, you are greeted with "Well butter my butt and call me a biscuit, look who's here!" How could you NOT love that?
Thus began my quest for all things bayou. I purchased other bayou type homes from Pandemonium (which is an AMAZING dark build) and reBourne.
I also purchased the Bayou Houseboat from Interior Addiction. It languished in my inventory until I had a place to build around it. I've enjoyed living on my little houseboat. I hope you like the pics - there are a lot of them.

The Burton Cottage
I purchased the Burton Cottage a couple of years ago. It is skillfully crafted by Gabrielle Swindlehurst and can be found on the Marketplace. In the past, I pulled the cottage out of inventory and tinkered with it, but never completely explored its full potential.
Gabrielle was inspired by Sir Richard Burton (the explorer) to create the cottage resembling an African lodge. I was inspired to use it when I saw an Architectural Digest spread on Richard Branson's own Virgin Island home (which burned down in August, 2011.)
The entire cottage is open to allow the tropical breezes to flow and permit easy access by the guests. I modified the cottage a bit, adding a large porch and opening up the lanai on both sides. One opening goes to the bath house by the waterfall, the other opening goes to the boat house.
There are no photos of the bath house, boat house or bedroom as I tore this down due to expiration of the land lease.
With builds like this, there are so many objects that it is hard to give credit to them all. Please don't hesitate to IM me in-world if you have any questions or need product information.
Enjoy!

POST: Suntaks Gamla Kyrka
I have been fascinated by the bloggings of KIDDOFSPEED aka Elena Filatova.
http://www.angelfire.com/extreme4/kiddofspeed/
www.kiddofspeed.com
Her websites are a photo-essay of her travels through the Chernobyl's zone of alienation. As she traveled across the Ukrainian countryside, she took some amazing photos of old, crumbling buildings and churches. *
I was inspired to "refurbish" one of her abandoned buildings in Second Life. I found an incredibly cool building, created by Van Auster/POST - Suntaks Gamla Kyrka (which literally translates to Suntaks old church).
I was surprised to discover that this building is still standing in Sweden. It was built in the late 1100s. and belongs to Valstads Assembly (Suntaks parish) in the Diocese of Skara (paraphrased from Wikipedia).
I had a hard time settling on a final design, so I did two. Before I show them to you, I wanted to show you the inspiration of the this post.
